Nama sankeertana (chanting of divine names) is the only means to attain perfection. Nama sankeertana is greater than worship and meditation. Nadopasana and Shabdopasana is a great meditation which washes away all the fears and the evil thoughts from the mind and fills it with peace and tranquillity. Even a few minutes of Nama sankeertana, done in a group, showers good health. Mind enjoys divine bliss.
We have to strive incessantly for spiritual growth. Towards this, we must engage in satsang. Valmiki was able to wash away all his sins due to incessant chanting of Rama’s name. He transformed into a Maharishi and was inspired to compose the Ramayana in Sanskrit. Regular chanting of Lalita Sahasranama gives divine bliss and leads to liberation.
Our mind is eternally wavering. Our buddhi is fickle. In order to control and regulate them, Nama sankeertana is a must.
Blessings of a Spiritual Master (Sadguru) are essential for developing love and devotion to God. Bereft of Guru krupa, it is difficult to even get water to drink. The grace of Sadguru is obtained by singing and reciting names of God. All beings, irrespective of caste or creed, are equally eligible to sing His glories.
Every man is bound by the circle of births and deaths. If we get rid of pride and prejudice and develop love and dedication to Sadguru, our attachment to mundane things will be cut. Guru’s grace enlightens us to distinguish between good and evil and to select the right path to salvation.
