Healing music is said to improve concentration. How?

You sing bhajan with absolute concentration. If your attention is diverted when singing, then you will miss a note. The bhajan rhythm will go wrong. When singing you cannot worry whether you are being observed by others, whether people are appreciating or laughing at you. Else you are bound to make a mistake. As such, without noticing your surroundings, you focus exclusively on your singing.

Same is the case with persons speaking or teaching. Since they are at an elevated platform, they should focus on the heads of the audience and not look into anyone’s eyes. This gives the impression as if they are looking into the eyes of the audience when in reality it is not so. The audience, through their eyes, may express different emotions which could divert the attention of the speaker. Some in the audience may be busy with their mobiles, some others may be eating when he is talking- all of these could anger the speaker. If someone is laughing, the singer may presume that he is being ridiculed. He becomes conscious of his talk and is prone to mistake.

Likewise, when you listen to healing music, your attention is fixed exclusively upon it. Due to this rapt attention, your mind becomes strengthened and in turn it increases your memory power.
