At every concert, I primarily sing and play my own devotional compositions. All of these are fundamentally based on rāgās which are of Indian classical origin. Even with a very large audience, I can very easily strike a mental rapport through music. Soft, melodious sounds and vibrations are propagated endlessly throughout the concert. Those tunes calm the listeners heart and thus the audience will be insistent that I continue to play the instrument. This also means that they have accepted me as a musician, isn’t it?
Moreover, I do sangeeta alapana (music elaboration) of the Indian classical music on a western synthesizer. Musicians who play the veena, violin, tabla and flute accompany me. All these are old instruments. Getting them all together and harmonizing them is not all that easy.
Chris Hinge, Michael Homel, Hinter, Grinder and other expert Jazz musicians have also heard this music and have appreciated it. At concerts in Zurich, they were the accompanying musicians on stage during my concert. They considered it as their rare privilege to be allowed to participate in this troupe.
My music is not purely for entertainment. I always state that this is a spiritual music. Music has the natural ability to cure mental diseases.
