Why do we get dreams?

Dreams are an extension of the wakeful state. Human minds are filled with thoughts. The same thoughts reflect during their dreams. Such dreams extend to the wakeful state as well.

During the day, the person puts pressure on the mind due to excessive thinking. Remnants of yesterday’s thoughts thus add to today’s fresh creations. These two join tomorrow’s newer thoughts and in this manner there are heaps and heaps of thoughts. Thoughts become endless. Such thoughts come in dreams.

Such persons imagine seeing God in their dreams. They believe God has issued instructions to them. If the message from the dream is beneficial, what harm is there in it? It will serve a good purpose. But if the dreams send out harmful messages then it is bad, isn’t it? It will pull him down and could cause harm to others as well. Therefore it is better not to get dreams at all.

Towards reaching a dream-free deep sleep, you need to ensure that your mind is kept free from any form of thought. Listening to soothing music while going to bed reduces dreams. Even if dreams arise you will not have memory of them when you awaken the next morning. There are many who forget their dreams. This is because of they would have heard soothing music or would have laughed heartily before going to bed. Due to excessive oxygen, they get sound sleep.
