Carrom board, dice, snakes and ladders, Chinese checkers and such other games are associated with games of gambling. Gambling ruined the Pandavas as we have read in Mahabharata. This is one reason.

These games were invented for retired officers who do not know how to spend their time and who have no spiritual interest. Those whose vision prevented them from reading, whose defective ears prevented them from listening engaged in such games to while their time. On the other hand, children who seek to excel in studies, adults who seek to participate in meritorious, charitable activities, who seek to use their time for the well-being of themselves and of others, should not play such games. When there are more interesting tasks on hand, why should we while our time playing useless games? In what way do you benefit by such games?

Instead of these games, play football. It will build your stamina. It will benefit in some way.
