To what extent do the sins and merits of parents influence the life of their children?

The effect of parents’ sins and merits on children is life-long. When the children grow-up, the effects are seen more prominently. So elders have to be very careful.

Especially when the child is in the womb, one must not engage in bad action, lying or arguing with the spouse. For the sake of protecting the child, the mother should accept defect, if that is necessary for peace to prevail. This is purely for the child’s future. It is not important to give the child wealth, but it is important to invest in him/her good qualities. These good qualities will be with the child until his/her very end. Until the child grows up and becomes independent, you have to a great responsibility of ensuring a healthy environment for his/her growth. After that you can argue/fight with your spouse.

It is very important to be extremely cautious from the time the child is in the womb until it grows-up. You should never quarrel in front of the child. They will be wonderful children then.
