Shatashloki 55: Rama kills demons Khara and Dūshana
Tathas śūrphaṇakhaāvākyāt udyuktān sarva rākshasānKharaṃ triśirasam caiva dūṣaṇaṃ caiva rākṣasamNijaghāna raṇe rāmaḥ teṣāṃ caiva padānugān.

Vane tasminnivasatā janasthāna nivāsināmrakṣasām nihatānyāsan sahasrāṇi caturdaśa. Meaning-While living in the place called Janasthana, Rama killed 14000 demons.
Tato jñātivadhaṃ śrutvā rāvaṇah krodhamūrcitaḥSahāyaṃ varayāmāsa māricaṃ nāma rākṣasaṃMeaning -The death of his brothers Khara, Dooshana and Trisiras along with other 14000 other mighty demons hugely infuriated Ravana.
Vāryamāṇa ssubahuśo māricena sa rāvaṇaḥNa virodho balavatā kshamo rāvana ten ate.
Anadŗtya tu tadvākyaṃ rāvaṇaḥ kālacoditaḥJagāma saha mārīcaḥ tasyāśramapadam tadā.Meaning- As death was hovering over Ravana, he did not listen to the advice given by Marīca.
Tena māyāvinā duraṃ apavāhya nŗpātmajauJahāra bhāryāṃ rāmasya gŗdhram hatva jaṭāyuṣamMeaning-Ravana, using the help of the illusory demon Marica, ensured that Rama and Lakshmana were sent far away from the cottage.
