Śri Maha-ganapataye namah
We discussed that Rama and Lakshmana remained tight-lipped even after Hanuman’s various efforts. At last, Hanuman let out the entire truth and revealed his identity.
Hearing this revelation from Hanuman, the face of the elder brother lit up with complete happiness. His eyes bloomed joyfully and his face was filled with enthusiasm. Our inner feelings are brought out by our bodily expressions and facial reactions. In the guise of samudrika shastra, there are many who look into the eyes of the client and narrate the form of grief that is bothering him. Impressed with this talent, the client himself goes on to narrate his entire life story. In reality, it was his own eyes and his facial expression that revealed his inner sorrow.
Hearing these words, a smile completely lit the face of the elder brother. He who had remained tight-lipped thus far, now smiled sweetly like the full moon. That smile conveyed his complete blessings! He now looked at his younger sibling and joyfully said, ‘Lakshmana, the minister of that Sugriva for whom we have been searching so long has himself come to us. Talk to him with a smile. Set aside all reservations and suspicions. This Hanuman is no ordinary being. He is an erudite scholar who has mastered the 3 Vedas.
He who is ignorant of the knowledge of the Vedas can never speak as eloquently as he has. On the other hand, Hanuman speaks clearly and grammatically perfect. His every word uttered until now has been flawless and pure’- thus in varied ways, Rama praised Hanuman’s oratory skills.
Lakshmana then addressed Hanuman and told him that they had heard of Sugriva and were seeking to consult him. He also narrated the events that led to their exile from Ayodhya and of how Sita had been abducted.
