035: The birth of Suvarchala

Śri Maha-gaṇapataye namah.

Having understood his wife’s predicament, Sun-god instantly called for a conference of all the various celestials. He explained to them of the necessity of reducing the intensity of his illumination.

Saṃjnya-devi’s father Vishwakarma was the celestial architect. This mighty engineer now invented a machine which would reduce the intensity of Sun’s illumination. Although this sounds illogical and absurd for us, the ordinary folks, a significant scientific principle is being explained in this incident. The in-depth spiritual science contained in it is grasped only when a person delves deep into the subject. The connection to spirituality is then understood.

Vishwakarma used the machine to saw the radiance of the Sun-god. The dust that was gathered due to this sawing was used to create a discus for Lord Vishnu. It implies that a portion of the power from this illumining dust was drawn into the discus held by Lord Vishnu.

Don’t we use a transformer to reduce the 10000 volts current. Just as we reduce the intensity of electric current, the intensity of the Sun was reduced.

Thereafter, a little radiance from the illumining dust was infused into Shiva’s trident and into the conches of the Ashta Vasus (8 celestials). Furthermore, a brightly illumining girl named Suvarchala was created from this energy. As she was created from the Sun-god’s energy, she was his daughter.

This incident does sound hilarious initially. It is hard to believe that Sun’s radiance was sawed and that from it a daughter was born. However, I suggest that you must deeply ponder over it. Mind-blowing hidden secrets will be revealed. The story will then appear fascinating and wonderful.

When the Sun’s radiance was reduced, Saṃjnya-devi agreed to return home. Saṃjnya and Sun-god began to live happily.

This story teaches how a husband must be truly responsible for his wife’s well-being and how he must look after her. Observe Lord Brahma. He has retained his wife Saraswati on his tongue. It implies he praises her profusely and she in turn empowers him with the proper knowledge. He considers his wife to be his entire knowledge. This is the respect he gives to his wife.

Maha-vishnu retains his wife Lakshmi on His chest. It implies his undying love for her. ‘You are dearer than my life itself. You are everything to me’- is the hidden implication. ‘I shall amply reward that person who glorifies you, who is seated in my chest, with all forms of wealth and knowledge’- He says.

When a person glorifies Saraswati, Lord Brahma showers him/her with plentiful knowledge.

When it comes to Shiva, He has retained His spouse on His head. Don’t we know that Ganga resides on His head? It does not mean that he is a slave to his wife. Ganga, who was of uncontrollable energy, became calm and flowed peacefully after landing on Shiva’s head. He shows how the wife can be won over with absolute love.
